Went to see Golden Compass with Luke. Of course, the book is still better (isn't it always?), but I was still impressed. The special effects were amazing - ( very small spoiler )

Sometimes, for a split second or so, I wish the Stargate SG-1 characters would talk in my head. Cause that's the only series I can think of that deals with interdimensional travel on a semi-regular basis. Finished rereading His Dark Materials series by Philip Pullman. The first two books are still great, and the third one is still kinda disturbing (Oh My God, they're TWELVE! ( spoiler )

Oh, now that is just cool. They're making Phillip Pullman's The Golden Compass into a movie that is set to come out in December. The first two books of the trilogy were my obsession in junior high, and it was a very long wait for the third one to come out when I was a sophomore or junior in high school.
